Police Report: Feb. 21

THEFT

Someone took five pieces of copper buss bar, valued at $400, from a piece of equipment parked in the lot at S&C Electric Co., 5251 W. Franklin Drive, between 3 p.m. Feb. 10 and 8 a.m. Feb. 14.

A Kindle Fire, valued at $300, was stolen from a desk at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, 10101 S. 27th St., between 5:15 and 5:58 p.m. Feb. 13.

Multiple gift cards, $400 in cash and prescription medication were stolen from a customer's wallet after it was accidentally left in a restroom at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., prior to 5:20 p.m. Feb. 14.

A resident in the 7300 block of South 36th Street reported that two debits totaling $78 were fraudulently charged to her Visa card and posted to her account Feb. 14.

A Global Positioning System unit valued at $100, $3 in change and a hands-free radio transmitter valued at $30 were stolen from one unlocked vehicle, and a GPS unit valued at $600 and $3 in loose change were stolen from a second unlocked vehicle, parked in the 9500 block of South Ryan Green Court around 12:53 a.m. Feb. 16. Police also received a report from a witness in the same block who stated her car had been rummaged through but nothing taken.

A Sawzall, a hammer drill, two cap guns and two table saws, total value of $1,850, were stolen from a locked work van parked in the 10100 block of South 34th Street between 5 p.m. Feb. 15 and 7 a.m. Feb. 16.

A hundred used automotive batteries were stolen from a locked battery storage area at Walmart between 3:05 and 3:15 a.m. Feb. 16. The suspects cut a chain and padlock to enter the secured area. The suspect vehicle is described as a late 1990s turquoise and silver Chevrolet Silverado with a cap, a windshield visor and full-length silver running boards.

A 34-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting T-shirts, bath mats and facial moisturizer at Walmart at 9:50 a.m. Feb. 16.

A 19-year-old Milwaukee woman and a 24-year-old Glendale woman were arrested for shoplifting clothing valued at $74 at Walmart at 4:15 p.m. Feb. 16.

Three rings, a pendant and a pair of earrings were reported stolen from a residence in the 10000 block of South 60th Street at 9:37 a.m. Feb. 17. The victim said the theft took place sometime within the last six months.

Four handguns were stolen from a former resident in the 12200 block of West Somerset Drive during his move to Trempealeau between Nov. 7 and Feb. 1. Police are following up with the moving company.

A 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl, both of Franklin, were arrested for shoplifting $160 in merchandise at Walmart at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 18.

The driver of a green Jeep left without paying for $49 in gas at Open Pantry, 7610 W. Rawson Ave., at 8:40 a.m. Feb. 19.

Six 5-gallon jugs of motor oil, valued at $600, and a set of shackles and chain, valued at $1,000, were reported stolen from a construction site in the 9700 block of South 92nd Street at 9:45 a.m. Feb. 20. The theft took place between 6 p.m. Feb. 8 and 6 a.m. Feb. 9.

A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting 21 packages of batteries, valued at $129, at Walmart at 11:35 a.m. Feb. 20.

An 18-year-old Franklin man was arrested for shoplifting gum, a toothbrush, 12-inch flex lights and earrings, valued at $37, at Walmart at 1:15 p.m. Feb. 20.

Two girls, ages 13 and 14, were arrested for shoplifting at Walmart at 6 p.m. Feb. 20.

A calculator and a clarinet were stolen from a locked vehicle parked in the 7800 block of South Tuckaway Shores Drive between 4 and 6:55 p.m. Feb. 20. The rear driver-side window was smashed to gain access to the vehicle. Damage is estimated at $200.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 22-year-old resident in the 6800 block of South 68th Street was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing after she came into the Franklin Police Department and filed a false report stating she was a victim of identity theft at 12:20 p.m. Feb. 15. She was also cited for operating a vehicle after suspension of her license.

A 19-year-old Franklin man was arrested for possession of marijuana, eluding an officer and an absolute sobriety violation in the 3100 block of West Woodward Drive at 1:33 a.m. Feb. 20. He was also cited for operating after suspension (second offense), failure to stop at a stop sign and operating without required lights. A passenger in his car, a 19-year-old Franklin man, was arrested for eluding/party to a crime and underage consumption of alcohol.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 21-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving in the 6100 block of South 27th Street after he drove the wrong way on South 27th Street and Rawson Avenue and ran two red lights at 12:45 a.m. Feb. 21. He was also cited for prohibited alcohol content and operating after suspension (third offense). His blood alcohol level was 0.14.

VANDALISM

A storm door and main door of a home were damaged when someone forcibly entered the residence in the 7400 block of South 77th Street between 2 and 3:40 p.m. Feb. 15. Nothing from inside the residence was reported missing. Police are following up on a suspicious vehicle report in the area around the time of the crime.

The back window of a vehicle was smashed while parked in a driveway in the 7500 block of South 69th Street prior to 4:45 p.m. Feb. 17.

The back window of a vehicle was broken while parked in the 7200 block of West Southview Drive between 6 and 7:15 p.m. Feb. 18.

The back window of a vehicle was broken on a vehicle parked in the 7300 block of South 77th Street between 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18 and 10:30 a.m. Feb. 19. The damage may have been caused by a pellet gun.

The back window of a vehicle was smashed while parked in the 10800 block of West Coronado Court between 10 p.m. Feb. 18 and 2:45 p.m. Feb. 19. Seven BB dents/holes were found on the vehicle.

The rear window of a van was shot out by a BB gun while parked in the 3100 block of West Southwood Drive between 5 and 7 p.m. Feb. 20.

The rear window of a vehicle was shattered while parked in the 8500 block of West Woodfield Court between 7:15 and 10 p.m. Feb. 20.

OTHER

A 35-year-old Franklin man was arrested for obstructing when he refused to admit he was driving even though he was seen driving recklessly through the parking lot at Crystal Ridge Ski Hill, 7900 W. Crystal Ridge Drive, at 11:55 a.m. Feb. 14. He was also cited for operating after revocation (sixth offense).

A caller reported that a skinned raccoon carcass was tied to the front of a pickup truck parked at Romney's Place, 7508 S. North Cape Cod Road, at 3 p.m. Feb. 17. The caller said there was blood on the carcass, so he thought it was still fresh. The owner of the truck denied tying the carcass to his truck but gave police a possible suspect. Department of Natural Resources officials were called to investigate, and they disposed of the carcass.

A 14-year-old Franklin boy was arrested for disorderly conduct after he became enraged, broke objects and threatened a relative at a house at 8 p.m. Feb. 17.

A 23-year-old Franklin man was cited for disorderly conduct after he was involved in a loud, physical argument with a relative in the 3600 block of West College Avenue at 5 a.m. Feb. 18.

An 18-year-old Muskego man was arrested for violating absolute sobriety laws during a traffic stop in the 5900 block of West Drexel Avenue at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 20. A passenger in his car, a 16-year-old Milwaukee girl, was arrested for underage drinking.

Franklin police responded to two domestic violence calls and assisted with four rescue calls and one fire call between Feb. 14 and 20.
