Man cited for throwing bread at officer
A 29-year-old West Allis man who attempted to take the path of yeast resistance during a warrant arrest was quickly bagged by officers after they found him sandwiched between shelves in the bakery at the Franklin Walmart on Jan. 30.
The man was cited for obstructing police after he threw loaves of bread at an officer attempting to arrest him.
According to a Franklin police report:
An officer executing a traffic stop on a Chevy pickup truck in the parking lot at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., discovered the passenger in the car, the West Allis man, held two valid commitments through the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office and one through the Delavan Police Department. Before the officer could take him into custody, the man fled the vehicle and ran into the store.
The officer followed the suspect into the bakery department, where the suspect began assaulting the officer by throwing loaves of bread at him. The suspect was then chased into the bakery processing area, where he attempted to hide from officers in the bakery racks. He was quickly located, arrested and transported to the Milwaukee County Jail Facility.
The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old New Berlin woman, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after police learned she left her vehicle and disposed of a hypodermic needle in a trash can outside Walmart. She was also cited for following too closely and operating after suspension, sixth offense.
